Never heard of Illia? Stop whatever you're doing and take 5 minutes to read below and to shop their leather pieces that will quickly become staples in your closet.
Designed by John Murrough and inspired by the West Coast chic lifestyle, Illia brings laid back sophistication to your closet. It consists of primarily leather pieces made of the highest quality fabrics portraying a rugged but feminine look. Although the line was launched by Murrough and his business partner Robbie Moray exclusively with Barney’s New York in the Spring of 2009, it has been around for much longer, since the 90’s. At that time the garments were mainly made of Suede. After years in the industry, Murrough took a sabbatical to his home country of South Africa before returning and relauching Illia. His sabbatical allowed him to see the industry in a new light. He realized that consumers are looking for something unique. They want to spend their money on a product that is made of the highest quality materials, long lasting, and not seen on everyone. It is said his motorcycle jackets and vests last a lifetime. ( I can attest to that as I have had mine for over 10 years with no complaints! - MM Editor) Murrough also combines different fabrics together for a unique product such as leather and ribbed knitting, silk and chiffon, etc. Illia is constructed in Los Angeles of the finest leathers and ribbed knit, fleece, and denim fabrics.
