Blake Nordstrom, Co- President of Nordstrom, has Passed Away
Our conolences are with the Nordstrom family as we received this heartbreaking news:
Co-president of department store chain Nordstrom and fourth- generation leader has passed away on Wednesday, January 2nd.
Nordstrom's death was confirmed by the company this past Wednesday. Nordstrom had previously disclosed that he had lymphoma to The Seattle Times and stated his plans to continue working while under treatment. Doctors told him his condition was treatable and he could continue working while under chemotherapy, however he passed unexpectedly at age 58.
Blake's brothers, Pete and Erik Nordstrom will continue on as co-presidents of the company.
Many of those who are current employees and past employees turned to social media to express their condolences, he was described as a kind man and crucial leader in this industry.
"I spent just one summer at Nordstrom, but it surely impacted the rest of my life and career. Blake was an absolute legend and my heart breaks for his family," one person tweeted.
