How to Dress Like Frankie and Grace on a Budget
One of our favorite shows at Muse is Netflix's comedy series, Grace and Frankie. Starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, the show follows two women that were brought together after their husbands leave them for each other. Grace is an uptight business-woman with classic, conservative style. Frankie is a free spirited fire cracker whose Bohemian style resonates with millennials. Together, they take on the struggle of being single in their 70's in a 21st-century world. We are obsessed with these fabulous looks created by costume designer Allyson Fanger. Here are a few looks that you can easily copy on your own...
Look #1. Monochrome & Tie Dye
Create a monochromatic look with a slim cut suiting pant paired with a fitted cashmere sweater. Add a printed neutral scarf to add dimension and complete the look.
Mimic Frankie's laid back bohemian style by pairing a relaxed tie-dye tunic with a layered necklace and drop marble earrings. Choose a pair of easy pants to complete the look.
Look #3 Floral Friends
To re-create Frankie's ultimate painter chic style, pair a denim overall dress with a button-up floral print kimono. Kimono's aren't your jam, try a button-up tunic or dress and leave it unbuttoned.
Adopt Grace's preppy style by wearing a floral collared long sleeve shirt with black skinny pants. Top it off with a fisherman velvet hat.
Look #4 - Day & Night
Grace's polished yet modern style is easy to replicate. Choose a classic pleated skirt and pair with a top in the same color. To complete the look, add a belt to define your waist. To add more refinement and shine for dinner, pop on a classic stud earring.
An easy to wear look that is as trendy as it is comfortable. Pair a graphic tee with paint splattered boyfriend jeans. If it gets chilly, add a utility jacket or duster.
Look #5 Party Girls
Grace's classic style is far from boring. To copy her feminine business casual style, pair a blazer with a starched button-down top and a mid-rise pant. Add a mother of pearl pendant for the ultimate touch of class.
Copy Frankie's party look by mixing prints that you normally wouldn't pair together. Start with a lightweight top or dress and pair with a printed open sweater. Accessorize with a hoop earring and statement necklace.
