To All The Boys I've Loved Before Fashion Inspirations

Warning: Mild spoilers for Netflix's "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" below.
The biggest topic here at Muse Headquarters is the adorable and heart warming film: "To All The Boys I've Loved Before", a Netflix original that needs to be added onto your watch list and is definitely enjoyable not only for teens, but also for adults. This is a teen rom-com which is based off the book by Jenny Han, and no worries we won't post too many spoilers, we are here to talk about the instant fashion icon: Lara Jean Covey (played by Lana Condor). When we watched this movie, not only were we captivated by the well-written script, but also the fun High School take on vintage fashion especially being that of Lara Jean.
Lara Jean's fashion is a true representation of her character, her style choices represents innocence with her hair tied up high pony tail. She likes to layer up which represents her fear of opening up to others. Lara Jean Covey clearly loves to mix current trends with vintage pieces and she rocks it oh so well. Here are some of our favorite outfits from the movie:
1. Layer up with a Bomber Jacket
Lara Jean keeps warm (and her true self safe) with cute bomber jackets through out the movie. Noted in the scene when she makes a contract with Peter (played by Noah Centineo) and later in the movie while she and Peter attend the party together! We love that she's wearing light pastel colors despite it being the Fall semester (home-age towards Korean K-Pop fashion) during the movie. Also notice the floral detail in her blue bomber jacket, so cute!
We may not have her exact jackets but this Pam and Gela Bomber Jacket with Crane Embroidery follows her style closely. Get it for for Fall for only $112.
2. Never be Afraid to be Retro
Lara Jean makes it clear that she's all about vintage and retro pieces, seriously think about it, in 2018 alone, have you seen anyone rock a plaid jacket and boots like Lara Jean? She's definitely bringing this Clueless style back. We love her whole outfit, from the cute bow tied pony tail, to the knee high socks with the vintage boots, Lara Jean is an instant style icon.
Copy her style with our Naven Cropped Plaid Vamp Jacket for only $70, you can mix it up with a camel color mini skirt by The Hanger instead of shorts like Lara Jean for only $18 bucks. And finally complete the look with your favorite pair of vintage boots, or with our open toe lace up boot by Breckelle's for only $18.
3. That's so 70's
Another Look of hers that caught our eyes was when she was riding her bike up to the local diner. We were instantly inspired by her trendy version of a classic 70's look, a corduroy mini skirt and a ribbed mock sweater; this look is so versatile for fall and it's easy to dress up or dress down.
Here at Muse Headquarters we have a great dupe with a twist. The Lindsay Sweater by Jill Stuart would pair perfectly with our Leona Penny Lance Pencil Skirt, dress this look down and step out of the box like Lara Jean did with a pair of sneakers; the Arizona Espadrille Sneaker by KAANAS would be a fun way to customize this look and mix together tones of gold and silver. Mimick the look with our Gorjana Double Crescent Layer Necklace.
We are so inspired by Lara! Don't forget to leave your Uggs at home Gen.
